2009 Update - > The Warrior Forum Wasn't Free - But Now It Is - OR IS IT?
A very common misconception is that the Warrior Forum is a free forum available for anyone to participate in. There are many free Internet marketing forums, but historically the Warrior Forum was technically not one, although some people initially think it is free because they find a way to access it for free.
The Warrior Forum has historically been a paid membership site with a twist. You do not pay directly to be a member. You pay for some other service or product and Warrior Forum membership comes with it.
Confused? Let me explain in more detail....
If you type in the domain name http://www.warriorforum.com you used to see an almost blank page with a box graphic about how the forum makes millionaires. But absolutely no information about how to access the forum. Many persons have been stumped when seeing that page. How do I get in? How do I become the next millionaire? What is going on here?
What is going on is that you have to purchase another product or service, and with that purchase comes information about how to access the forum. The forum is a bonus - and what a bonus!
Now, you can get into the Warrior Forum for free, but THE REALLY GREAT STUFF - meaning from Allen Says and quality content from members that is moderated before being posted, IS ONLY FOUND IN THE PRIVATE WAR ROOM. What to Buy to Get In
Host4Profit - Web hosting designed for Internet marketers. Host4Profit costs $24.95 per month. There is an affiliate program so by referring other webmasters you can get the service for free, or even make money. There is an extensive support forum, easy to follow guides, and superior service (always important for web hosting). On the downside, there are extra fees for additional domains, and that can get pricey if you are like me and have hundreds of domains.
Warrior Pro - I have not personally subscribed to this service, also $24.95 per month. But you should at least check it out. It includes Host4Profit web hosting, ad tracking, and access to private newsletters by the Internet marketing guru of gurus - Allen Says. Between this and Host4Profit this looks to be the better deal since it includes the web hosting plus more. The most valuable information, priceless actually, is anything written by Allen Says.
Money and Power - An Interview with Allen Says - One of the best Internet marketing interviews ever made. If you are not succeeding in Internet marketing it may be because you have not read this powerful guide. Get it now and begin applying everything. A mere $27.
I Got in Free - Ha Ha Ha! - Oops
The reason many people have though the Warrior Forum was free is because the forum is indexed in the search engines. Since the Warrior Forum is one of the most popular websites on the net it has tons of pages listed in the search engines. Click on an indexed link and you get in the forum. From there it is an easy enough matter to keep directly accessing the forum for free.
I know. That is how I originally found the forum. I actually thought the forum was free, until there was a discussion about this issue. Then I went and found something to buy so that my membership was 'official.' Was I glad I did!
There is more to the Warrior Forum than the forum. A lot more. There is a treasure vault of guides, products, resources, step-by-step how to make money tips, etc. available to paid members.
That last sentence I wrote - big understatement. Some things you just have to see because they cannot be adequately described with words. This is not a marketing pitch and I am not going to list everything in the treasure chest (this section of the faq would extend for many pages if I tried), but trust me, there is enough here to keep you busy for the next year. Although some of the items are getting dated, this is one great resource.

Warrior Joint Ventures - JV's are where two or more people come together to pool their talents and offerings, and then split the resulting profits. Warrior Article Database - If you have an article (with an important link back to your website) that you want promoted around the Internet, or if you are looking to establish expertise for yourself in an area, then this is the place to post your article. Alternatively, if you are looking for content for your Internet marketing related website this is the place to look.
New - submit your articles to the Warrior Article site instead of the forum. This will ultimately result in a broader distribution of your articles.

Host4Profit Questions - Support forum for the Host4Profit web hosting.
Plug-In Profit Site Support Forum - Support forum for PIPs members. PIPs is a turn-key marketing website offering links to many useful marketing programs. Click here to see a sample. However, this is not a signup, create website, and forget about it program (a common mistake). You do have to promote your PIPs website to get traffic and subscribers.
How to Promote Yourself
There are several ways to promote yourself in the forum.
First, create quality posts and provide quality information. Don't be overly negative. Don't be an idiot. Don't flame - even if some periodic idiot gets into the forum and bad mouths you. The goal in the forum is to make money. If you act professionally you will find dozens of people willing to bend over backwards to help you. Do the same for them.
Second, create a user profile. Near the top right of the screen you will see several links, including one for Profile. There is no reason to skimp here. People will review your profile, so make it interesting and include links back to your website.
Third, create a signature box and make sure you include a link back to your website. This is your opportunity to create a one-way link to your site - so choose some good keywords to associate with your site in the link. Because of some past abuses, such as one guy who had huge seemingly 500 point letters stretching across the entire screen, your signature block is limited to 5 lines and can only be in black. Make your signature interesting so people will click on it.
If you are a PIPs member and receive a sample signature line to include in forum posts, something that looks like:

You will not get any subscribers on the Warrior Forum because we already are PIPs members or have decided not to promote it. Nothing sends the message faster that you are a newbie who knows nothing than seeing this signature line. It is an instant credibility killer. Everyone on the forum is absolutely sick of seeing this signature.
What that should tell you is that people will click on your signature links - but only if they are unique and not something everyone has already seen a thousand times.
How to Hide URLs and Affiliate Codes in Signatures and Posts
A question I have received numerous requests about is how I create nice looking links in my signature. For example, you will see:

The Warrior Forum, as with most forums, allows a type of text manipulation that is similar to but not the same as HTML. Here is sample code to use in your signature line. This also works within forum posts.

The
[url]html link[/url]code is how to make hyperlinks. Make careful note of where the quotation marks and brackets are placed to make a nice looking link that does not show any html.
What Do Those Stars, Colors and Titles Mean?
Whenever someone makes a post in the forum their name is listed on the far left side. Underneath their name is a title, like Warrior Member, Active Warrior, Hyperactive Warrior, Advanced Warrior, Senior Warrior Member, a number of colored stars, where they are from (if that is included in their profile), and how many posts they have made.
The number of stars and a person's 'title' are solely based on how many posts they have made. The software running the forum automatically adds this information. For example, make a few hundred posts and you will automatically see three yellow stars and the title 'Advanced Warrior' below your name!
The only exception is for Moderators. If you see the 'Moderator' title that is someone to contact if you have any problems. (Do not contact Allen Says.) The 'Mods' have the right to delete inappropriate posts, and they do a pretty good job of keeping the forum running smoothly. These are unpaid volunteers, so give them some slack!
Be careful about putting too much trust in a star system based solely on the quantity of posts. The number of posts a person has made is irrelevant to the quality of their posts. Generally, those who have been around for years and provide good advice tend to have more posts. But every now and then you will come across someone with a large number of posts, who is just spamming the board, and who should just generally be ignored.

You can earn a lot more by participating. Do not limit yourself to thinking that the Warrior Forum is a place just to get information. Think of it as a networking forum. The friends and acquaintances you make will open many doors - business opportunities, JV deals, etc.
The first post to make in a forum is always the hardest. Either submit a new topic introducing yourself, or find a topic of interest and jump into the conversation. When other Warriors see the number of posts next to your name they will know you are new. Respect is earned through participation. Keep at it. Be professional. Never flame. You will soon build for yourself a powerful network of friends in the best marketing forum - and with that will follow more money and opportunities than you would have thought possible.
